Christmas!!!!!

Christmas was GREAT at the Comer house!!!! Christmas Eve we went to my parents for breakfast and opened gifts. That evening, we went back to mom and dad's to eat finner with them since dad had to work Christmas day. We went to Aunt Cindy's on Christmas day. The day after Chrsitmas, Caylee and I got up extra early and picked up mom. We met dad in Memphis and did some shopping. That afternoon we left for Murfreesboro. We went to Jamie;s parents to have Christmas. We had Far East for lunch that day.... (MY FAVORITE)...... We all loaded up on more goodies. We headed back to Tipton County on Monday. We took down all the decorations and got the house back into shape. We have found homes for all the new toys. Today, we are headed out Aunt Cindy's for games and food!!!! This has been our New Year's Eve tradition for YEARS!!!
2009 has been a great year for our family. I hope 2010 proves to be even better. Happy New Year everyone!!!!

Sanibel Island

During Christmas break, we attended the wedding of Jamie's cousin Mark on Sanibel Island. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Of course, we brought the cold temperatures with us and they left when we left, but seeing the island during Christmas was AMAZING!!!! I met many members of Jamie;s family that I had never met. Jamie also got to see people that he had not seen in 20+ years. We had a great time and made great memories with the kids. I just wished we could have stayed longer!!!!

Merry Christmas from the Comers

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. I have had my decorations up for a while now. I am almost done shopping. The hardest part is getting a good picture of my 2 kids for our Christmas cards. Caylee is photogenic and loves to takes pictures. However, Will it the OPPOSITE!!! He hates it!! He did pretty good this year. We did not have any meltdowns like we did last year. We made it short and sweet. I let him go first and we tried to make a game out of it. Without Jamie's help, there is noway I could get their pics!!!! Here are some of our attempts at pics.

I hope all of your holidays are wonderful and blessed!!!!!

Merry Christmas from the Comers..... Jamie, Heather, Caylee, and Will

Halloween 2009

We had a BUSY day yesterday. First, we headed out to Camille and Coy's for Ava's 1st birthday party. We had a great time celebrating with my spoiled and adored little niece!!!! I can say she is spoiled because I am one of many that does the spoling. (Jamie is worse than me though!!!) Then we headed home to get Caylee and Will ready for trick or treating. Our subdivision is always BOOMING on Halloween. So, mom and dad come out and help us give out candy. Dad dresses up and mom gives out candy as Jamie and I take the kids around. Mom and Dad bring out their Halloween decorations (graveyard and scary figures). Camille, Coy, and Ava joined us this year after they made their rounds. I look forward to next year when Ava can make the trip around the subdivision with us!!!!

Caylee was Vombie Dorothy.... she wanted her face painted!!!!

Will kept saying he was going to be a killer clown. When mom went to paint his face, he decided he wanted to be a nice clown. He had scared himself!!!!!

Birthdays!!!!!

Well, the fall season is FULL of birthdays in our house!!! Actuallt, Will, Caylee, and I all have birthdays within 2 weeks of each other. Jamie is the odd ball with the summer birthday. September 28 was Will's 4th birthday. It seems like yesterday that I was MISERABLY huge and preggo with him!!!! We celebrated by going to Caylee's softball game and then having cupcakes at home. October 3 was Caylee's 8th birthday. (WOW!!! I can not believe it has been that long since we brought our 1st child home!!!) We headed to Reelfoot for the Arts and Crafts festival and to eat at Boyette's. Boyette's is Caylee's favorite. She LOVES catfish. My parents went with us and Jamie;s mom and sister joined us. Then on Monday, October 5, we were on fall break!!!! So, we had their birthday party at Chuck E cheese. They both invited a couple of friends to go along. We had a great time!!!!! The "big" kids and adults played as much as the little ones. Now, we go back to school tomorrow (on my birthday!!!!). YUCK!!! The only positive is that we get to have cake at school tomorrow. My wonderful husband gave me an IPOD touch and took me to the casinos this week while we were out. We had a great time with some good friends. We did not hit it big, but we had a great time losing!!!! Now we get to recooperate for a while on birthdays. Back to the diet and real world............

Disney On Ice

Sunday afternoon Jamie and I took the kids to see Disney on Ice for their birthdays. It was AMAZING!!!! We had 2nd row tickets. We were extremely close to EVERYTHING!!! It was a perfect show for both kids. It kept both of their attentions!!! After the show, we walked to Kooky Canooks for lunch. The kids thought that place was COOL!!! We ordered s'mores for dessert. The kids got to roast marshmellows right at the table. We had a great day to celebrate both of their birthdays!!!

Brighton Cardinals!!!!

Well, football is season is well underway. BHS Cardinals are currently 4-1. We have had some really close and exciting games (too close for me). I really enjoy going to the games and watching these young men. I have taught most of the players throughout their lifetime (some 3 years). It is really neat watching these boys grow and flourish into young men. Some of these young men hold a special place in my heart. Those sophomores are my FAVORITE class I have ever taught. Yeah I taugh them in 4th, 5th, and 7th grade. They are GREAT kids!!! Caylee and Will LOVE going to the games. They cheer loud and hard for those Cards and daddy. I can not think of anything else Jamie is meant to do than be on that football field. He gives it his all and loves every minute of it (well - almost every minute of it). I think he would pay them to let him coach. This week is homecoming. We look forward to hopefully another win and then we meet Munford. Hopefully we can come away Tipton County Champs for a 3rd year in a row.

Back to School

Well, we are officially all back to school. Of course Jamie and I went back August 3. Caylee started school August 10. Will had his first day of preschool yesterday. I really did not think this would bother me, but it did!!!!! Dad took him to school and then he rode the bus home. I had just pulled in when the bus pulled up. The first words out of his mouth were, "I love school!!". Man, I hope he keeps this attitude. Caylee loves school and does great. We are blessed that both of our children have great teachers. We look forward to a great year for all 4 classrooms (Jamie's, mine, Caylee's, & Will's).

Also, it is FOOTBALL time in Brighton. Our cardinals had a great showing last Friday night with a big win over Raleigh-Egypt. We host Bartlett this week. I sure hope those Cards get another big win!!!!

Dauphin Island & Holiday World

We just got back home from a great trip to Dauphin Island with my entire family! Our crew tries to go to the beach together annually. This year we decided to try out Dauphin Island. It was GREAT!!! There is not a lot of hustle and bustle there. It is a great place for relaxation!!!! We enjoyed spending time on the beach, visiting the fort and aquarium, eating at The Pelican Reef (Jamie's favorite), khayking in the ocean, and watching the countless doliphins come by.

When we left Dauphin Island, we decided to drive staight to Murfreesboro instead of coming home. We spent one n ight there where we vistited with Jamie's family. We left the next morning and headed to Santa Clause, IN. It was GREAT!!! We spent 2 days at Holiday WOrld and Splashin Safari. We met some good friends of ours there. We all had a BLAST!!!!

Now we are finally back home!!!! It is nice to be home and sleeping in MY bed!!!!

** Sorry we have no pics from holiday world. We got sand in the camera at the beach and it will not work!

New York & Boston

The BMS NJHS (Honor Society) went on our end of the year trip to New York and Boston recently. As a sponsor, I went along for the ride!!!! We had a BLAST!!!! I have never been to these areas, so I was like a kid in a candy store. I absolutely loved every minunte of it (ok - maybe not the 26 hour bus ride, but hey - I can not complain!) We went to The Empire State Building, Statue of LIberty, Ellis Island, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Times Square, Natural History Museuem, 5th Avenue, Shrek the Musical all in New York. Then we left for Boston were we saw the Old North Church, Paul Revere's "path", USS Consitution, Fenway Park. We left Boston and headed to Salem where we went to the Witch Museuem. It was my FAVORITE!!!! Salem is such a NEAT town!!!!! The kids were all WONDERFULLY behaved! We were even told at the witch museum that the kids were the best group of kids to ever go through!!!! What a compliment!!!!!

I look forward to being a sponsor again next year..... We are going to Universal Studios in Orlando!!!!

We had breakfast with the characters of Playhouse Disney. We meet all the princesses and the Power Rangers. My children were THRILLED!!! Caylee is our little daredevil. She rode EVERYTHING. She does not get that from me!!!! It is great to be back home. Now, 5 more weeks until summer break.

Charity Ball

We attended the Junior Auxiliary Charity Ball Saturday night. We had a WONDERFUL time. I love this organization and all my fellow JA sisters. We raised a good bit of money for the children of Tipton County. Thanks to all of those that attended. For those that missed it, make plans to attend next year. It will be a BLAST!!!!

How Sad

On Sunday evening, Alicia Huffman was killed in a car wreck. She leaves her husband and 2 young children. She was VERY active in the lifes of her children and supported them in any endeavor. I do not know what these 2 children will face in the future. I could not imagine my life without my mother (and I am ALOT older than these two). Please keep this family in your prayers.

What a GREAT Day!!!

We had such a great day!!! We went to West Memphis, AR this morning for Caylee's 1st dance competition. This was the first one for her entire group. They did WONDERFUL!! They placed 1st gold in their division and #9 overall in their category. Cathy's other dancers did EXTREMELY well throughout the entire competition. It was great seeing this girls from all over do something that they enjoy so much. However, I was a little overwhelmed at how serious this is to some parents (none in our group). There were several HUGE rolling make-up / accessory cases in back. I was SHOCKED!!!! It was definitely a learning experience for me. It was FUN though. I now know what to expect.

Then as we were leaving it started SNOWING!!!!! We stopped by Casa Mexicana for a late lunch. It was YUMMY!! When we got home, Jamie took the kids outside to let them play in the snow. They did not stay out too long b/c it was getting dark. Now we are going to enjoy some hot chocolate and a movie. Here are some pics of the snow. Ignore Caylee's eye make-up. It was from competition.

Nerves

Well, most of you know that I am having surgery next Friday, the 20th. I am having my thyroid removed. I have NEVER been put to sleep. The only times I have been in the hospital were to have my babies. So, needless to say I AM NERVOUS!!!! Mom had the same surgery by the same surgeon this past summer and all went REALLY well. This does boost my confidence, but I can not shake the nerves. I really did not realize how nervous I was until today. I TOTALLY forgot that Valentine's Day is tomorrow. I never forget holidays. I forgot to get Caylee's teacher a gift (SO unlike me). At school, I realized that I will only be teaching 3 days next week. Reality has set in that I am 1 week away from surgery. By this time next Friday, I should be in my hospital room recovering. Please say a little prayer for me that all goes well.

Close Knit Family

I feel blessed that I have a close knit family. My mom keeps Will every day at my house. She gets here early every morning (if she does not spend the night) and helps get Caylee ready for school. She keeps Camille's baby, Ava Cate 2 days a week at my house as well. Caylee loves coming home on these days to see Ava. We kids around with each other over who is going to get to hold Ava Cate first. Of sourse, normally I do let Caylee get her first. I snapped a few pictures today of the two of them. I think Ava loves Caylee about as much as Caylee loves her. I am sure she will be extra spoiled by Caylee. I am very thankful that I do have this family that would do anything for each other.
